Providing the best product or service to each client means helping them feel satisfied as they do business with them. Whether simply reaching out or thanking a long-time client, there are best practices to sending the right message. Where lack of gratitude distances the business from each client, using “thank you” more often and expressing appreciation can help develop a stronger relationship for whom the business provides products or services. When expressing this gratitude, it is important to remember being personal, consistent and thoughtful.

Making an effort to be personal and professional will allow each client to feel valued and a sense of belonging. Being personal means more than saying “thank you” when a client finishes a business transaction. It could be a handwritten thank you note, a small gift, or a shout-out on social media. With a thank you note, the client who receives it will know that the business cares about that individual more than just a number on a database or revenue. A small gift will show that client a good vibe and help them feel more as part of the community. With a shoutout on social media, the client will know that they matter to the business. However a business may approach it, being personal with their clients will show them that they care and their business matters.

Working to show appreciation will yield little results without consistency. More than just a random act of kindness, gratitude should be practiced regularly within a company between each client. This will further grow the business by making and keeping loyal clients who have developed that relationship. This means establishing a regular schedule of reaching out and remembering each client when they are receiving products or services from the company. This persistence will also demonstrate dependability to the client and further deepen their loyalty.

As we value our clients, we want to make sure that they know they are a part of our community in helping them grow and succeed in their small business.
